My 2nd son Master Karthik G Bharadwaj, born on June 09, 2002 had delayed milestones and was finally diagnoised for Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD by Spastic Society during November 2005. Without being aware about Autism, Mental Retardation and also to handle such a child there are instances wherein I have beaten him for his mis-behaviour and have confessed the same with the special educator who Infact, educated me in handling such a special child. I reflected and worked on it.My children were beginning to use phones and tabs, of course to watch good things that give them knowledge But always felt bad about the faces that glow because of gadgets. One fine day it hit us so bad. My husband and I realized it was not them, it was us largely 'me' for that matter I was clocking heavy gadget time myself. So it began to reflect on my family. That was the tipping point. Reflection is half the battle won. With support we made it a point to put our phones away in a bookshelf at home.
